Radnor Township Historic Resource Survey

In 1988, 100 properties worthy of protection were identified in Radnor Township’s Comprehensive Plan. That list was updated and expanded for the 2003 Comprehensive Plan.

In 2010, with the assistance of the Delaware County Planning Department, the Radnor Historical Society set out to expand that list with new properties, additional information, and potential new districts where large numbers of historic properties are clustered. The resulting survey contains information for more than 2,000 properties that are either potentially significant historic resources or within districts.

Please note that a property’s inclusion in the survey does not mean that it is historically designated or overseen by Radnor Township’s Historical Architectural Review Board (HARB). Only properties with numbers beginning with D1 (North Wayne), D2 (South Wayne), or D3 (Louella Court) are within districts where HARB has review authority. The Radnor Historical Society is not a governmental body and has no role in regulating historic properties; the Society’s only goal is to make historical information available to the community.

We are always looking for new information to add to the survey! If you would like to contribute facts about historic properties in Radnor Township, and if you have architectural drawings that are not referenced in the survey, please contact us!

Two Ways to View the Survey:

Survey Map

The map highlights the parcels where historic buildings, sites, structures, and objects are located, and points where individual historic elements are located within larger properties. Clicking on each parcel shape or point brings up detailed information on those places, including address, construction date, architect, links to photos in the RHS archive, and much more.
